Steven DeSalvo!

Ryan and Ryan Insurance is pleased to announce Steven DeSalvo has joined the agency, and is available for your business and personal insurance needs. Steve has been an insurance broker since 1997, licensed for Property & Casualty, Life, Accident and Health Insurance, and he is a Notary Public.  He operated Allstate Steven J. DeSalvo Agency in Port Ewen from 1997 to 2009, having achieved Allstate’s NY Regional Champion and National Conference Awards; as well as Allstate’s Good Hands Promise Award for exceptional service.  Since 2010 he was AVP/Insurance & Premium Finance Manager for a NY State Chartered Bank.  DeSalvo’s prior real estate and business background includes operating nationally franchised real estate brokerages. He holds Associates and BS Degrees in Business Administration from SUNY Ulster and SUNY New Paltz School of Business.  Additionally, he has completed numerous real estate and insurance programs, including   Society of Certified Insurance Counselors Personal Insurance, Commercial Casualty, Life, Accident, & Health courses, and is a Graduate of the Realtors Institute. He has served on a number of professional and civic boards over the years including as Past President of the Town of Esopus Lions, Town of Esopus Business Assoc., and the Ulster County Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors.  He was also a past member & chairman of the Town of Esopus Board of Assessment Review.     Client of the Month for December:

Covert Excavating & Concrete, located in Saugerties, NY is Ryan & Ryan Insurance Brokers’ Client of the Month for December.  Dennis Covert, owner & operator of Covert Excavating & Concrete, started his business in 1996 with one dump truck. He now owns and operates over twenty-five pieces of equipment including six excavators.  Covert Excavation & Concrete handles full excavation for residential & commercial site work, water and sewer lines, septic fields, poured concrete foundations, residential and commercial paving, ponds, land clearing, in-ground pools, poured concrete and decorative retaining walls, brick paver and bluestone patios, sand, stone, topsoil and mulch deliveries, and snow plowing and removal. 

After working with Bob on a few occasions and getting to know him better, Dennis had no question that he would someday move his business insurance to Bob.   Immediately following the opening of Ryan & Ryan Insurance Brokers, Dennis did exactly that.  Covert Excavating & Concrete is thrilled to have Ryan & Ryan Insurance Brokers addressing all of their commercial insurance needs for over five years now. In addition, Dennis also moved his personal insurance. A welcoming, warm smile, genuine concern for addressing all of his insurance needs and sincere appreciation from Bob that he was doing business with his agency, is what Dennis remembers most about bringing his insurance to Ryan & Ryan Insurance Brokers Inc. Our Client of the Month for November, Stavo Industries, Inc. DBA ErtelAlsop, is a locally owned and operated company. They specialize in manufacturing and selling liquid filtration products for use in pharmaceutical products, distilled beverages, wine, beer, soft drinks, food ingredients, cosmetics, flavors, chemical, wastewater, and electric utilities. Clients of Stavo Industries include Coca-Cola, Pepsi, AVON, Jim Beam, Central Hudson, Sanofi, GlaxoSmithKline and Archer Daniels Midland.  Stavo Industries is a third generation family business that was founded in 1932. Currently, the company is owned and operated by George and Bianca Quigley.  Their new facility is located at 132 Flatbush Ave. in Kingston, NY.

George and Bianca have been customers of Bob Ryan’s for many years. This business relationship began when they purchased their personal insurance from Bob.  A challenging situation with their commercial insurance program motivated George and Bianca to contact Bob for advice, even though he was not their broker at the time. The expertise and advice they received from Bob gave them such a sense of trust and respect, it lead them to place all of their current commercial insurance and benefits with Ryan & Ryan Insurance Brokers, Inc. In addition to Bob, Stavo Industries also works closely with Kim Whelan and Yvonne Wynkoop in addressing all of their insurance queries.

                              Kerri Letersky

Whether you walk through the door or call in to the office of Ryan & Ryan Insurance Brokers, Inc., the first person to greet you is Kerri Letersky.  With a warm smile and pleasant disposition, Kerri is happy to connect you to the appropriate insurance agent who will assist you with all of your concerns.  Kerri came to Ryan & Ryan Insurance Brokers, Inc. with 5 years of customer service skills so she is always ready for whatever challenge comes her way. Kerri’s day-to-day responsibilities include receiving & processing payments from clients, filing documents, and assisting all Ryan and Ryan agents when necessary.   She is currently taking classes toward obtaining her NY Property & Casualty License.

When asked to give some thoughts about Kerri, Jeanne Beck the Operations Manager at Ryan & Ryan says, “She is just great!  Kerri is a self-starter who always tries to figure things out on her own before asking for help. I’ve also never seen her lose her patience, even in trying situations”.  Ann Dippel, Associate at Ryan & Ryan adds, “I don’t know what we would do without Kerri. Her cheerfulness and willingness to help out whenever and wherever it’s needed is appreciated by all of us here at Ryan and Ryan, as well as our customers!”

                 Ann Dippel!

                                                                  

Like many of her colleagues at Ryan & Ryan Insurance Brokers Inc., Ann Dippel began her insurance career working for an earlier generation of the Ryan family.    In 1974, Ann worked as a customer service representative for the Morris Agency in New Paltz, NY, which was owned in part by Bob Ryan, Sr. After a couple of years in the insurance industry, Ann decided to make a change and took over managing the office of her family owned business.  Ann returned to the insurance industry in 1996 when she joined the Reis Turck Insurance Agency, and worked there until they were bought by Ryan & Ryan Insurance Brokers in 2011.  She now enjoys working for the next generation of the Ryan family, Bob Ryan Jr.  Throughout the years Ann was active in the New Paltz Chamber of Commerce. Currently, she volunteers for the American Cancer Society.  

In 2012, Ann began her semi-retirement with Ryan and Ryan Insurance. This allows her to remain a part of the Ryan and Ryan Insurance team and enjoy more time with her family, especially her three wonderful grandchildren!
